COME AS YOU ARE (licorice's plotter)

and so, this is yuling; she hails from the east and is a half-monster. she looks like an average five foot brat, but she's probably older than your grandmother. around five months ago, she arrived at selphia to harass ventuswill and poke around the surrounding ruins. although she initially wanted to move onto exploring the sechs empire after a couple of months, her stay in selphia has been extended a bit for the sake of waiting out the conflict with the rebellion. you can find her at the inn, the general store where she works part-time to cover her living expenses, raiding the bookstore for interesting text, at every ruin ever or in the clinic because she decided to do something stupid like run into leon karnak by herself.


it's difficult to make too many friends as a traveller, though that doesn't necessarily stop yuling from trying. even after so many years on the road, she's still rather susceptible to loneliness, especially since she had come from a small village where everyone knew one another. loyal to a fault and perhaps far too trusting, there have been many instances where she has been taken advantage of, however, it hasn't hardened her heart. she makes an effort to befriend majority of the people she encounters, though it might seem a bit overbearing. it's almost impossible for her to forget a name and face; she's as good at memorising them as she is with texts and ruins.



it's near impossible to make an enemy out of her, unless you harm her friends or vandalise relics and whatnot. yuling is obnoxiously forgiving, and even in the situations where her personality clashes with one another, she restrains from displaying her dislike for people. that doesn't necessarily mean she isn't hurt or offended, but she's not the biggest fan of unnecessary confrontation and avoids hostile atmospheres.



as a monster-turned-human, romantic love isn't exactly something she's familiar with. the closest thing she's had to a romance is probably her infatuation with lost civilisations and deteriorating scriptures. it's not as if her heart's not open to it, but she's only been exposed to platonic and familial love all her (human) life and finds it difficult to differentiate between such affections.
