I feel like I'm the worst, so I'll always act like I'm the best

Gideon will act like a total butt. He'll come off as rude, immature, and absolutely tactless to anyone meeting him for the first time. Once someone can get close to him, however, they may notice an immediate change, or even see through the shell. Gideon's not really a butt, he just tends to act that way. Very convincingly. Once you get to know him, however, he can be very sweet, and even shy, getting flustered over the smallest of things. Sometimes he doesn't know how to react when someone is nice to him, so he lashes out. Then once he's lashed out, he's too embarrassed to stop, and keeps it up. It's only once he feels accepted by you that he's able to slowly drop the act and even seem like a good person. Until he lashes out at someone else and the cycle repeats.


Gideon doesn't know much about his past. Or, more accurately, he doesn't know anything about his past. He first stumbled into Selphia about eight years prior as a disoriented and injured Chipsqueek. A couple of people who found him had decided to nurse him back to health, only to get a shock as within a few hours he suddenly took on the form of a human boy. It was decided to keep the occurrence on the down low, at least until he came to his senses enough to explain what had happened to him.

Unfortunately, he was never able to. Once he came to, it was realized that he had very little idea who he even was, let alone what had happened. Unable to recall his own name properly, he was eventually given a new one by the town. Naturally, half-monster or not, he was allowed to stay and live a nice peaceful life alongside the rest of them. The question of hiss past or his amnesia was never followed. He was treated the same as anyone else who might've been born in the town and the circumstances behind his arrival were soon forgotten. Or, at least, shoved under a rug.

He wonders about it some times, but he doesn't really care much. He likes his new life and doesn't care to wonder whether his old one might have been better. Though, really, if it had ended in him getting amnesia, it couldn't have been, could it?


Gideon glowered at the mirror, his brows furrowed as little beady eyes glared back at him. It wasn't very intimidating-- Chipsqueek just weren't capable of that. Apparently giving up on whatever he was trying to accomplish, his fuzzy little shoulders slumped in defeat. He was supposed to be a monster, not adorable! Of all the things to be half of, why Chipsqueek? How was he supposed to be cool and fearsome if whenever he got upset he turned into something so-- Cute? It was infuriating, but even when he tried to express his rage to the mirror, all he could see was that adorable little face staring back. Ahh, how he wished he could be something different... Anything different!
