Gideon will act like a total butt. He'll come off as rude, immature, and absolutely tactless to anyone meeting him for the first time. Once someone can get close to him, however, they may notice an immediate change, or even see through the shell. Gideon's not really a butt, he just tends to act that way. Very convincingly. Once you get to know him, however, he can be very sweet, and even shy, getting flustered over the smallest of things. Sometimes he doesn't know how to react when someone is nice to him, so he lashes out. Then once he's lashed out, he's too embarrassed to stop, and keeps it up. It's only once he feels accepted by you that he's able to slowly drop the act and even seem like a good person. Until he lashes out at someone else and the cycle repeats. FRIENDSHIPS There's no exaggerating the fact that Gideon is a difficult person to make friends with. Ridiculously stubborn, he just can't bring himself to stop even when he's aware that he's sabotaging himself. As a result, many give up before they get to see the more gentle and loving side of him that takes friendship more seriously than life. Think of him like a sour candy that slowly becomes sweet. Very slowly. And then very suddenly. Once you do get to the sweet center, however, he seems like such a different person that it's easy forget what a jerk he's been before.
HATESHIPS Gideon will seem like he hates every one. It's hard to say when it's true or not... There are indeed times where Gideon's attitude is not a flaw of his own, but of another person. When he honestly hates you, despises you, you will know. Or maybe not. As they say, if everyone's hated, no one is. Some could even treat Gideon's hatred as a form of love, if they believe hard enough.
LOVESHIPS Gideon isn't really familiar with love. He's had his curiosities towards the subject, but never the chance to experience it. He knows he certainly wouldn't mind a bit of love in his life, but the mere thought of actual affection tends to turn him into a fumbling mess. It's another thing that he just doesn't understand how to react to, naturally leading him to lash out and ruin everything once again. He honestly just can't help it.

Oh dear, a magic chipsqueak. Allergies and a distrust of magic, perfect!
So these two together... Gideon knows Selphia, and Rudy is gonna get lost and confused by all the buildings a bunch of times. Gideon's abrasive nature would take a bit to really get to Rudy when they first start to interact. If they get past that, lets add potential random friendship gifts that are usually fish related, and we got a weird pair on our hands.
Take 'em out of Selphia and hunting for adventure! Rudolph can do the whole 'get beat up by monsters' part of adventure easily. Maybe have them hunt down a dangerous monster to get some special berries?

Ahh, that sounds entertaining~! xD Just finished reading Rudolph's profile, and it sounds like they could have the most perfectly strange friendship ever. Of course, Gideon would start the relationship as he always does, by acting like a complete jerk. He'd probably get immediately attached upon realizing that his behavior wasn't getting to Rudy, but he'd still keep up the attitude. He'd be like the most horrible but most friendly friend at the same time and it would be absolutely confusing. "I'm going to show you around town now, come on." -5 minutes later- "WHY ARE YOUR LEGS SO SHORT. UGH, YOU'RE SO SLOW." "Hey, I found this cool spider for you, and--- I DON'T CARE IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPIDERS, TAKE IT. We can catch some fish later. Grumblegrumble." Also, they have the same birthday  . |

GIDEON WINTERSi had to hit up the fellow half-monster, oops. forgive meeeee. help, so. gideon is a big tsundere. they would most likely know each other since yuling purchases a lot from the bookstore (and makes his job a little harder because she places orders for books they don't carry, boooo). since he's such a butt, he might make her internally cry at first but he's also a little chipsqueek. it'd be hard to pass off the opportunity to meet her own kind, especially since she's trying to find out how they're half-monsters anyway. pfftt. at that point, she'll be willing to push through anything he'll throw at her--without being too intrusive. maybe buy his friendship through food since she does work at the general store, too. or they can meet in their monster forms. but yeah, adjust how you see fit ~ ;;
