[PTab=BIOGRAPHY]
I'm becoming this, all I want to do
history
Raine was born into a noble family of merfolk, known as the Mystiere, within the depths of the ocean. They were happy as ever, with both parents and three children. The oldest was a son named Helios, prideful and ambitious. Next was Merli, their daughter with an empathetic heart and boundless curiosity. Then there was... well, there's Raine. Not meaning to be a bully or anything, but she really was odd. Let's see now, I'll tell you the story of her life, as it's just beginning. It may seem to be unfortunate in the eyes of the reader, but it's a story which has yet to have been completed. Now hang on tight! I'll show you weird.
So yeah, we know that Raine's different than others. But as a child, she really wasn't. She was kicking and happy for a little girl under a decade old. To be frank, she might have been quite a troublemaker. Everywhere in the underwater kingdom, everyone knew her name. She was the child with a loud mouth and boundless rays of energy. And not to brag, but she was beautiful too. With porcelain skin and her dainty doll-like features, she truly was a merfolk that others would marvel over. Albeit the young Raine was oblivious as to all of the above, and merely seeked the greatest endeavors that life would throw at her.
But she didn't remain the same when she started to grow older. At the age of eleven, Raine started to grow more mature, breaking away from most of her childish and oblivious antics. With that, the young mermaid was generally calm and peaceful, but unfortunately, gullible and timid. And that left a lot of windows open for peer pressure and bullying. Her merfolk peers would pick on her and use her to their advantages. Being rich and beautiful, it was only expected. However, little Raine never realized how much this could change her as an individual. It developed little fears within her, and anxiety for each new day in store.
Within a very short timescale, the girl had completely changed. Time changes people, they all said. Now, after all her fears, Raine developed an introverted and unstable personality. Basically, she was all over the place when it came to feelings. They easily won her over, but it was just as easy for them to hurt her. She only wished she could stand up for herself and be bold, but it just wasn't so easy. Whenever she tried to, this certain fear would haunt her. Whispers would taunt in the back of her head, an uncomfortable sting pulsating throughout her. They called it anxiety. Nonetheless, she started to keep to herself and never really went out there, unless she absolutely had to. Whilst she could communicate, she was never able to speak up or look them in the eye. It was irritating.
Momentarily, Raine had started to become curious of the world beyond the deep blue sea. The little village, she'd love to sit on a rock and gaze whilst she read stories. It never meant much to her, until she started to see all these unfamiliar things. Two tails, strange clothing, how uncomfortable it felt when the water would vanish. Yet, as curious as she was, she couldn't find it in herself to break the boundaries. Both her siblings had even walked on land, they had the strength to control their monstrous powers. Yet she was a youngling, and her parents would hold her back until they deemed the time was right. But Raine never did wrong at all. In fact, she was never around. She was in her own world, occupied by silent studies and conversations with herself. If anything, Raine needed to break out of her shell. Because it restricted her from living the life that a young lady could live. It wasn't forever when you got the chance to be youthful.
And so she would ascend the oceans, making her way onto land. It was the same way as usual, but nobody seemed familiar to her. Only a good handful would shift between land and sea, and soon the young girl would grow to become one of them. She didn't know what she was doing up on the surface in the first place. But it drew her in, the strange nostalgia in the air. She wanted to explore more, even though it killed her to make friends around. Who knows? Perhaps she'd one day uncover the art of optimism. Through all of the paintings and whispers which flow with the wind... it's a story which has yet to finish.

Raine would lay against the calming shade of an oak tree, glancing up at the sky. The weather was simply pleasant today, the warm yet gentle breeze would carress her skin, her long blue hair blowing with the wind. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she tapped the ground, humming softly. She wasn't smiling, nor was she frowning. She looked almost expressionless, but nobody could tell what was going through her mind. Frankly, her mind itself was a neverending novel. Anything could give her a single fragment of inspiration. And when it did, she could feel the nostalgia. Right beside her lay an open sketchpad, and few ink quills, and the classic novels she borrowed from the city library.
Raine was proud to say that she had a sense of imagination. The days would pass on by as she wrote little stories and logs for her journal, sketching all of the scenery whenever the weather was at its peak. It was the life for her, somewhere peaceful and quiet... beside a small little pond in case things went wrong. Yet, she still couldn't find it in herself to so casually hold conversations with utter strangers. Raine tended to ignore the fact. There were so many other things she could do as well, albeit it only seemed to make her mope and whine. What a day... just like any other. The mermaid doubted that anything fresh and exciting would happen, unless she went out of her comfort zones to make that happen.
