BURN EVERYTHING YOU LOVE THEN BURN THE ASHES
The flames of the forge were strong, emitting a heavy heat that no corner of the shop was able to be spared from. Corvus wiped a film of sweat from his brow as he observed a broken blade sitting on his anvil. He scowled at the sword. It was embarrassing seeing works like this but not even metal could hold up forever. This particular sword he'd found sitting around in the shop; having been long forgotten by a traveler who had asked for it's repairs and never came back for it.
The elf plunged the blade into the hot coals with a grunt. He wasn't even sure if he'd bother with it. The metal was flimsy and poorly shaped. At best he'd melt it into some scrap in case someone needed a tool fixed at a later date. There was simply no way he'd be responsible for sending someone against monsters with such a brittle material in hand. Corvus had so much more pride than that and such a thing would tarnish his glowing reputation. Because really, he was the best.
Plopping down at his work bench, he began to leaf through some of his designs he hadn't yet had time to create. His stores shelves were getting a little bland lately. Usually he'd have a larger assortment of weapons out; curved, engraved, thin, ect. Lately he'd only been putting out simple pieces and working on personal things for himself. Not that he needed anymore blades and armor. At times he just couldn't help but work on things for himself as well. Although in all fairness it had been a good long while since he'd even done it. Usually he was working on things for others. Orders hadn't been too demanding lately and he'd just decided to take advantage of it instead of over filling the shop like he preferred.
His hand wandered toward a thin chain around his neck with a beaten piece of silver upon it as he continued to ponder what to work on next. "This could probably just go in the front," he mumbled to himself, "I'm not too keen on having a set of throwing knives for myself anymore." Corvus pulled the plans from the stack and set it aside, intent on working on the small project at some point during the day or the next.
